We include 4 feedings in our daily routine: the first feeding is at 6:30am, the second at 11am, the third at 4pm and the final feeding at 7pm.
All feedings include timothy or alfalfa hay and the first and final feeding include grain feeding of our North Shore Pellet, developed specially for our barn by Otter Co-Op. For those horses on only a minimum amount of grain we also include a scoop of Triple Crown Minerals to supplement daily vitamin/mineral needs at the final feed of the day.
Medications & Supplements
Your board includes the option of one supplement or medication to be given in the evening on a daily basis. Owners must provide the supplement and the evening feeder will include it with the horse's grain for the night.
All stalls include stall mats and wood pellet bedding. Stalls are cleaned daily after turnout is complete. All stall include a feed bucket and automatic waterer that is cleaned weekly.
All boarded horses enjoy full-day turnout 7 days/week. Horses are turned out after the 6:30am feeding and enjoy their 11am feeding outside. Horses are turned in starting at 3pm so they can eat their 4pm feeding inside. Horses are turned out rain or shine unless otherwise requested.
At NSEC we have an on site live in caretaker who closes the barn each night and checks that your horse is comfortable and happy. She is available 24/7 for emergencies as well, should they arise.
Boarders are provided with a tack locker in one of our heated locker rooms, use of 2 wash racks that include hot and cold water, use of our all 3 of our arenas, a customer lounge complete with wifi, play area & TV, and easy access to many of the North Shore's beautiful multi-use trails.
