Children can register in our summer camps at 7 years old and from there join our weekly group lessons from September to June.
If a child has not completed an NSEC summer camp or completed lessons at another barn, they must be 8 years old to enter weekly lessons from September to June.
Play Dates are available to children from 4 years old and up.
The best way to see if your child would like riding and is comfortable around horses is to set them up on a Play Date. Play Dates are one on one with one of our caring instructors. Participants will get to help groom and tack up and get a hand led ride to see what it's like to be on a horse all in a comfortable and safe setting.
Pony Play Dates are 30 minutes long
Our groups are set at a minimum of 4 students with a maximum of 6 students allowed to ride in one class at once.
For those students participating in our public riding lessons a horse is provided for your lesson every week. Your horse will be assigned to you each week and may change from week to week.
Due to our high demand for lessons, all "prime" lesson spots (4pm-7pm weekdays and 9am-6pm weekends) are slotted for group lessons. Privates and semi-private lessons run Monday to Friday before 2:30pm and are dependent on instructor availability.
Yes. The weight limit for riders at NSEC is 170lbs max. This limit is to protect the overall health and stamina of our horses.
